saving energy
Although recycling paper saves energy, but the amount we save is
not too much, when we compare with steel and aluminum recycling.
Producing paper in paper mills or recycling them have some
advantages and disadvantages. A recycling plant uses more fossil
fuel than a paper mill, because a paper mill gets its most
energy needs from waste wood, but recyling plant buy its energy
from power companies. Unlike recyling plant paper producing
plants emit more sulfur dioxide. In addition paper mill always
need trees as raw material to produce paper, but paper recycling
does not need trees. A ton of paper made from recycled paper
conserves up to 7000 gallon of water, 17 to 31 trees, and 4000
KWh of electricity.
