   Geochemical exploration in 1:100000 sheet of Zamanabad
  
   Abstract
   Zamanabad sheet is situated in northwestern edge of 1:250000 geological quadrangle of Abdoughi, between 55.30 to 56 eastern longitudes and 32.30 to 33 northern latitudes, Yazd province.
   Oldest rocks in this area are metamorphic rocks such as gneiss, marble, mica schist, amphibolites and migmatite that form Iran's metamorphic basement of Precambrian, as Chapeduni, Bonehshuro and Sarkuh complexes. A thick sequence of clastic and pyroclastic rocks like shale, sandstone and tuff, Tashk series (Morad formation) cover the mentioned metamorphic rocks. Then Rizu series starts that includes sedimentary carbonate and clastic rocks with tuff, basic and felsic lavas. Paleozoic rocks include Lalun and Mila formations, Devonian-Carboniferous succession of dolomite and sandstone and Permian limestone of Jamal. Mesozoic rocks started with shale and red sandstone of Sorkh-Shale formation and middle Triassic Shotori dolomite that unconformably cover the older rocks. Shale and sandstone of Jurassic Shemshak formation have unconformable contact with Shotori. The Cretaceous rocks include a thick Orbitolina-bearing reef limestone. Upper cretaceous rocks (Cenomanian) developed over Lower Cretaceous with a basal conglomerate. Tertiary rocks started with Kerman conglomerate and followed with clastic sedimentary rocks, marlstone, sandstone, conglomerate, and gypsum, and andesite volcanic rocks.
   Intrusive masses of the area include Precambrian Zarigan and Narigan granites, white granite, Jurassic Isma'ilabad granite and Precambrian Gabbro, diorite and granodiorite bodies.
   In this survey all samples were analyzed for 23 elements including Sb, Sc, Sn, Sr, Ti, V, W, Zn, Bi, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Ag, As, Au and Ba elements. Below table shows the maximum and minimum of elements (ppm) in samples.
