Hydro
Power
As mentioned before, any moving object has a kinetic
form of energy. In this context, rainfall and water
flowing in rivers and water falls all have the ability
to work.
Water mills, a wooden wheel run by flowing water are
used for hundred years in some parts of the world for
the mostly grinding folur or corn turning of a well can
be done by pouring water from the top or by laying its
blades in the path of water flow as seen in a river.

Nowadays, electricity generation is added to the other
usages. Hydro, a Greek name for water is used in the
hydroelectric power term, referring to any kind of water
kinetic or potential energy used to produce electricity.
Dams are a barrier for flowing water, to make large
reservoir of waters behind.
Depending to the height of water built up behind the –
dam, as well its volume, different kinds of turbines
have been used. In general the rush of high volume of
water through turbine blades, causes the shaft connected
to them, turn the generator common shaft.

The electricity produced here are transferred by
overhead power lines to ling distances areas.
Hydro power is found wherever there are large amount of
water, Hydro power is found wherever there are large
amount of water, namely mountainous areas and lakes.
