Equipping the mine and plant installation for Jajarm Alumina Project
Technical and feasibility study of Jajarm bauxite mine
Volume one: geology and exploration
The present report is the first volume of a series of technical and feasibility reports on the Jajarm bauxite mine that addresses the geology and exploration of the deposit.
The report includes three chapters belonging to geology, exploration and strcxutrual geology of the area. The report also contains an appendix of complete list of boreholes, excavated trenches and 109 cross sections on the scale 1:2000.
The fist chapter tries to review comprehensively previous works on geology of the area. Geography, climate, geomorphology, lithology, and physical properties of host rock such as granulometry, porosity etc. are some topics addressed in the chapter.
The exploration chapter includes two portions: a review of information from identification step of the deposit to the end of drilling program that amount to 24000 m core; an explanation of the scientific base for complementary exploration proposal including the dense and deep borehole network plus to comparative charts of proposed core length for each block of the mine. At the end of this chapter there is the result of statistical analysis on data derived from drilling.
Chapter three involves a description of bauxite layer is each mine block and the geology map of them. The blocks were named according to nearest fault.
