Au-Sb Detailed exploration in Kalat-e Chubak area
Abstract
Kalat-eChubak mineralized zone is 18 Km far from Rivash and 48 away from Kashmar city. Mineralization has occurred as stockwork vein and veinlet in limestones and marls. The veins mainly contain realgar and orpiment minerals. They are 10 to 300 meters long and 10 to 30 Cm wide. At first effort, 4-5 m wide and 2-3 m deep trenches excavated for making a road to the area. This was done for 2 Km. Hand excavated trenches were made perpendicular to the veins trend. Distance between trenches ranges between 10 and 80 m. Rock sampling was done from each 5-m long segment of each trench. Also a general network, 10 * 30 m, designed for studying the surficial grade variation. Additionally, two 100-m deep boreholes drilled. Achieved cores were sampled, per each 2 m long segment of them. At whole, 554 samples analyzed at China Geoscience Laboratory for Au, Hg, As, Sb and Ag. Also 51 samples were analyzed by XRF and XRD for detecting mineral phases. All samples from boreholes analyzed by XRD and XRF. Deep-seated samples also analyzed by atomic absorption method for Au and Ag. 30 polished sections prepared for mineralography.
The first chapter of report describes the result of field geology and study of polished sections. It also includes a description of Au-Sb-As-Mo mineralization.
Second chapter presents the result of chemical analysis of samples. Statistical analyses and evaluation of raw data included in the chapter.
The third chapter is the report of mineral potential evaluation for Kalat-e Chubak deposit. The grade and estimated reserve of Au and Ag in the deposit is below the economic limit. At best situation, the massive reserve of deposit is 40 million tons that contains 1904 tons Sb2O3, 372.6 tons WO3, 10.3 tons Ag, 0.3 tons Au, 1366.2 tons MoO3 and 178121 tons AsS2O3. Fourth chapter involves conclusion and suggestions.
